After activating the artifact ball it will start glowing.
It has two modes:
Left-click (red color): attract cannibals
Right-click (blue color): repel cannibals
Deactivate it by clicking two times.
It can be found in a cave inside the mountains after unlocking the second ending. You need the artifact key to get into the room.
The plane wreck contains a few bottles which the player can use, and it is also found in large quantities along the Beach and commonly in suitcases. Booze can be used to create Molotovs and Explosives, or attached to weapons to increase damage.
Upon consuming, it will lower your energy.
Inventory holds a maximum of 8.
The walkman plays music that restores energy. Collect tapes to play different songs. The tapes can be found on the yacht and caves.
The walkman can be attached to a tree or trap to attract/distract cannibals.
Game modes or cheat codes
Type them in the title scene to activate a mode:
Enemies only come out at night.
Deactivate all cheats.
All structures are indestructible. Moved to gameplay option settings
A percent of trees (10%) will grow back each time you sleep at a shelter. Sleep enough times without cutting down any trees and eventually the entire forest will be repopulated.
Note â€“ to keep a tree from regrowing in this mode, remove both the tree and the stump so that they donâ€™t grow back inside your base.
For multiplayer games this needs to be enabled by host to have an effect on game.
Reset floor & roof holes in a saved game. Cheat works once when game is started then gets reset when going back to title screen. Does nothing for MP clients
Press F1 to toggle the console.
Press F2 to display the console log & status.

The Flare Gun is a weapon and distraction tool in The Forest. When shot, a flare shoots out of the gun towards the direction the player is looking. The projectile flare can set plants on fire, as well as mutants and animals. It is also a very effective way of killing mutants. Shooting a flare illuminates the room for a moment.
It can be found on the lap of the pilot/co-pilot near the detached cockpit. It can also be found in the caves and on the yacht.
The Flare gun can be reloaded using flares on the crafting mat.
Collectible item found in caves. Reveals either world (forest or caves) as you travel. Shows the current player position as a pin.
X - marks explodable caches
Circled Caves - mark walk-in caves
Down arrows - mark climb-down-entrances
Left arrow + Cave - mark cave exit
Up arrows - mark climb-out-exit

Use it near water to fill it. Cook it over a camp fire to get drinkable water.
You can cook a stew with the cooking pot. After adding the pot filled with water on a fire, add a choice of 20 ingredients (8 meats, 6 mushrooms, 4 herbs and 1 berry and oysters), it will start a 30s cooking period after which stew will be ready to eat, providing hydration, fullness and other benefits based on recipe. Can remain on the fire up to 10 minutes. Note, you can also add ingredients to pot without water, however this will not provide hydration and will burn food extremely fast.
Raw Fish, Lizard, and Rabbit - Can be collected by hunting those animals. Rabbits and Lizards can be hunted or trapped. Fish are found in ponds and the ocean. Fish are killable with regular weapons and explosives. Rabbits that are lit on fire turn into edible cooked rabbits when they die. Inventory holds a maximum of 3.
Generic Meat - Can be collected from hunting sea turtles, boars, raccoons, and deer. Sea turtles are found on the beach and in the ocean. Raccoons are found in the forest and can be hunted or trapped. Boars are found only on the northern half of the island, near the mountain. Deer are found across the map. Inventory holds a maximum of 4.
All meat must be cooked over a fire or hung on the drying rack to prepare before consuming.
Meat ages over time in inventory, going from fresh to edible to spoilt and providing less and less benefits and eventually becoming harmful. Meat appearance as well as inventory tooltip title change to reflect decay state.
Rocks are one of the primary building resources and can be found lying on the forest ground. The player may carry up to 5 rocks in his inventory at the same time and may use one as a weapon.
By combining a rock with a Stick and Rope, the player is able to craft the Stone Axe.
Rocks can be placed on the log sled.
Snack - various kinds of chocolate bars, which can be found inside suitcases, in caves, or in the camps. After consuming, they regenerate a portion of your energy, while satisfying a small amount of your hunger. Inventory holds a maximum of 10.
Soda - soda drinks, similar the previous type, can be found inside of suitcases, in caves, in soda crates and in the camps. After consuming, they restore your energy to full while satisfying your thirst. Inventory holds a maximum of 10.
Kill a sea turtle or tortoise to obtain the shell. It can be equipped as a weapon and left clicking will bash enemies away. Use it as a shield by right clicking. Inventory holds a maximum of 1.
The turtle shell can also be used to construct a water collector.
The shell can also be used as a sled by jumping and doing a downward attack. (
there is currently no fall damage, so you can sled into the sinkhole without taking damage, for example)
